Today I am out on the road, somewhere between Nashville, TN & Hibbing, MN (hometown of Bob Dylan) so I figured it would be fitting to share all of the states that I have been to on my many travels.

The ones in bold are ones I’ve lived in. I did include D.C. as it’s own listing, so if you’re curious about my math at the end, that’s why. Lastly, there are a few states that I have technically been in, but only as a layover, but I’ve noted those. I may need my dad to fact check me at some point, but for now, here’s the list:

  1. Alabama
  2. Arizona
  3. Arkansas
  4. California
  5. Connecticut
  6. Delaware
  7. District of Columbia (Washington DC)
  8. Florida
  9. Georgia
  10. Hawaii
  11. Illinois
  12. Indiana
  13. Iowa
  14. Kentucky
  15. Louisiana
  16. Maine
  17. Maryland
  18. Massachusetts
  19. Michigan (possibly airport only)
  20. Minnesota
  21. Mississippi
  22. Missouri
  23. Nevada (airport only)
  24. New Hampshire
  25. New Jersey
  26. New Mexico
  27. New York
  28. North Carolina
  29. North Dakota
  30. Ohio
  31. Oklahoma
  32. Pennsylvania
  33. Rhode Island
  34. South Carolina
  35. South Dakota
  36. Tennessee
  37. Texas
  38. Utah (airport only)
  39. Vermont
  40. Virginia
  41. West Virginia
  42. Wisconsin

There are 9 states (and Puerto Rico) that I have yet to go to. I had planned a road trip that would hit all but one of them (do I really need to go to Nebraska?) but it didn’t pan out. There’s still time though (even for Nebraska).

How many states have you been to?
